Elida "Lela" Almaguer Aguilera, age 71, of Castroville, TX, passed away April 13, 2004 in Castroville. Elida was born September 18, 1932 in Robstown, TX to the late Panfilo and Ysidra Lopez Almaguer.
She worked for over 25 years with Dr. Fay Wurzbach, Dr. Eckert, and Dr. Peterson at their medical clinic and the Castroville Hospital.
Elida was preceded in death by her brothers, Servando Almaguer, Gabriel Botello and Victor Botello; sister, Gregoria Vasquez; grandson, Edward Ortegon, grand daughter, Estrellita Linda Aguirre.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Ramona and Victor Ortegon of Brady, Janie and Delfino Saucedo of Devine, Terri Williams of San Antonio, Cindy Kinder of Grapevine, Irma and Edward Torres of Castroville, Martha and Louis Castillo of Castroville; sons and daughter-in-law Gerald and Tina Aguilera of Castroville, Eddie Aguilera of Kerville; 23 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ramiro Almaguer of San Antonio, Pablo and Isabel Botello of La Coste, Adolpho and Oralia Botello of Hondo; sister, Mary Louise and Julian Mascorro of Castroville; former husband, Cruz Aguilera of Castroville.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 15, 2004 from 12:00 noon to 5:30 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville, TX. Rosary will be held Thursday, April 15, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. The Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 16, 2004 at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Louis Cemetery.
