Adelaide Barney Passes at 83. Sheridan – The Funeral of Mrs. Adelaide Dennis Barney, 83 who died May 7 at the Sheridan Emergency Hospital was held Tuesday in the Latter-day Saints Church.
Bishop Nathan Parker conducted the service. The songs sung during the service were "Come Unto Jesus" "Wonderful Mother of Mine" and Beyond the Sunset".
Six of Mrs. Barneys grandsons served as pallbearers. They were Mark and Keith Jensen, Doly Smith, Verge Roylance and Dick and Douglas Barney.
Mrs. Barney was born May 22, 1876 in Marysvale, Utah. Her father was William Taylor Dennis and her mother was Adelainde Fullmer Dennis. She Married David Barney at St. Anthony, Idaho. He proceeded her in death.
She lived in Utah and Idaho until 1923 when she moved to Montana. The last five years she has lived in Washington and California with her children. At the time of her death she was living with der daughter Fayle Dupuis of Melrose.
There were five living generations in her family at the time of her death. She had 148 direct decendents.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Ellen Eliza Huff, Ocaen Park Calif: Daughters Mrs. Adelaide Smith, Whitehall, Mr. and Mrs. Alfreta Roylance, Moses Lake, Wash. And Mrs. Dupruis, Melrose. Sons and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Calaway, Rexburg, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Royal Barney, Butte, Mr. and Mrs. Clay Barney, Melrose, and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Barney, Sacrament, Calif. Mr. and Mrs Frank Barney, Belgrade, Mrs. Lillie Shaw, Salt Lake, Mrs. Charles Barney and Mr. and Mrs. Irvan Barney, Anaconda, and Mr. and Mrs. Nichol Barney, Manhattan. There are 41 grandchildren, 82 great grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
