Don Edward Blackburn, 70, of Temple, Texas passed away on January 20, 2011.

He was born in Elaine, Arkansas on February 25, 1940 to the proud parents of Edward Walker and Tabitha Webb Blackburn and lived in Mellwood, Arkansas. He graduated from Mellwood Elementary School and Elaine High School where he excelled with the football squad.

Upon graduation from EHS, he joined the Navy and served on active duty until his honorable discharge June 3, 1960, then served as a Reserve until March 1963. He then went on to become an executive in the carpet industry in which he excelled for many years.

Don Ed is survived by his sister, Tabbie Ann Blackburn and a host of relatives and friends.

Services for Don Edward Blackburn will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Roller-Citizens.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 4-9 p.m. at Roller-Citizens.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena, Arkansas. Reverend Rodger Hooker will officiate.

Pallbearers are Roger Yarbrough, Tommy Naile, Charles Naile, Bob Smith, Gene Balch, Jerry Davis and Billy Franklin.

Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
