He was a farm implement salesman (Leake and Byers Co) out of Roseburg, OR. Business was bad and he left the family during the Depression, divorcing Helen. His daughter Pat was adopted by Charles Glenn, Helen's next husband.
Walter remarried a woman named Emily B. Olson in Vancouver, Clark Co, WA April 30 1937. He then married a woman named Anita M. Watson. (m. 1956) and they ended up in Cornelius, OR. An article was written about him in the Oregonian, "Bohemian in Roseburg" c. 1950 by Don Engdahl. He died of diabetes complications.
