Edith Margaret Amicon, age 92, died Friday, July 6, 2007 surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. She was a loving mother and "Nana" who dedicated her life to family and home. Retired owner of Amicon's Grocery Store in Grandview. Lifelong member of St. Margaret of Cortona Catholic Church and the Young at Heart Club. Preceded in death by parents, Nicola and Leonora Scarpitti; her devoted husband of 54 years, Gus; and her loving daughter, Velma. Brothers, Vito, Orlando and Ugo Scarpitti; and sister, Dena Del Ciello. Survived by daughter, Norma (Tom) Ackerman, son, Guy (Sue) Amicon; grandchildren, Theresa (Alan) Kemp, Kathi (Ernie) Donini, Anthony (Lora) Ackerman, Jim (Vicki) Ackerman, Brian Amicon, Jason Amicon, Todd Amicon and Michael Amicon. Great grandchildren, Alexa and Daulton Donini, Sydney Kemp, Leighanna and Justin Ackerman and Jacob Ackerman. Brothers, Romeo,and Albert Scarpitti; sisters, Nellie and Dora Scarpitti; brother-in-law, Vito Del Ciello; sister-in-law, Florence Scarpitti; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
