Daily Democrat, Clinton MO, Aug 12 2003 - Ollie Windes-Hendrick was born September 24, 2900, in Birch Tree, to Squire Ellis and Alice (Snider) Windes, and died at the age of 102 on July 19, 2003, at the Clinton Healthcare where she had been residing since 1997. Ollie was the third of seven children, five of whom preceded her in death. She received her elementary and high school education from several small Missouri towns as her father worked for the railroads and transferred often. To this marriage of 74 years, they had four sons, one son dying at birth. They farmed near Montrose for 22 years before moving to Idaho and two years later to Lynden, Washington, where they raised berries for 25 years. After retiring in 1970, they returned to Clinton and became faithful members of Northeast Baptist Church where they were active members until their health failed. Ollie was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Willard Hendrick, on November 19, 1997, and one grandson, Michael Hendrick. She is survived by three sons, Ralph Hendrick, Jr. and wife Irene, Twin Falls, Idaho, Clifford Hendrick and wife Evelyn of Clinton and William Hendrick and wife Margie of Ferndale, Washington; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Nadine Langford, Clinton, and many nieces and nephews.
