Carol Louise Sutheard, 65, of Springfield passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011, at St. John's Hospice surrounded by family.

She was born in Springfield on February 25, 1945, to Elmer and Louise (Nation) Braden. She married Stanley Sutheard on August 28, 1967 in Curran; he died in 1990. Her father also preceded her in death.

Carol retired from St. John's Hospital after 34 years of employment as a clerk. She was a member of Real Life Church since 1990 and a member of the Forget Me Not's.

She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Bowser (Robert) of Pleasant Plains and Rhonda Hummell (Nicholas) of Petersburg; a grandson, Jaycob Bowser; her mother, Louise Braden of New Berlin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at noon Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Real Life Church, with the Rev. Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation .
