She was my Aunt Lois. When I was small they lived in Oregon and later moved to Uncle Joe's birthplace in Washington County Alabama, the house in which he was born and raised. Lois lived there until she passed away.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Mount Vernon Alabama and was very active in her religion.
I will always remember that when I was a child living near her, that she almost always had some kind of "treat" baked when we visited which was quite often. She loved cooking and sewing and was always sewing a quilt or something for someone.
When I had my first child prematurely by C-section, it was Aunt Lois who helped me after my surgery though she could barely get around herself. She also taught me how to take care of the baby the first few days.
She was a wonderful person and I miss her a great deal.
