Elsie was the daughter of Warren and Phebe Phenix Heath. She married William Leimgruber in Weavers Corners, Huron County, Ohio on 25 March 1877, and they had Nellie, Orpha, Robert, and Stella. Elsie outlived William by nearly 50 years and never remarried. Elsie died from heart disease at the age of 81 years 10 months and 22 days.
