He was the husband of Leona S. (Leisey) Gabel.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late John H. and Olivia H. (Deysher) Gabel.
Gabel had been employed for 15 years by CNA in the statistical and control department before retiring in 1968. He had then been a bank teller for National Central Bank from 1986 to 1981.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, West Reading.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Also two sisters: Grace, wife of John Hunter, Shillington, and Dorothy, widow of Winfield Hain, Bethlehem.
The Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
