Seven Crewmen Die In Crash At Pyote
Pyote, Tex., Aug. 7 - Seven members of a Flying Fortress crew died today when their plane crashed into the mesquite-studded landscape seven miles south of the Rattlesnake bomber base here, the field's public relations officer announced.
The crew was in its first phase of heavy bomber training and only recently had been assembled.

Second Lt. Thomas H. Lee, pilot, Seattle, Wash.; 2nd Lt. William C. Beisel, co-pilot, South Williamsport, Pa.; 2nd Lt. Quentine R. Elkins, bombardier, Rockford, Mich.; Sgt. John S. Yarosz, engineer-gunner, Monaca, Pa.; Sgt. Frank S. Vobora, assistant engineer-gunner, Goanion, Wis.; Sgt. Herbert Carson, Jr., radio operator-gunner, Austin, Tex.; Cpl. Jesse C. Knight, armored-gunner, Salado, Tex.
