SARAH ANN FASIG OBITUARY
CLARK COUNTY DEMOCRAT
30-JULY-1919

Sarah Ann Fridline, daughter of Conrad and Sarah Fridline, was born in Wayne County, Ohio, September 29, 1835 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emma Williams, near Martinsville, Illinois, July 25, 1919, aged 83 years, 9 months and 26 days.

In the year 1855 in Ashland County, Ohio, she was married to Jacob Fasig, who preceded her in death, December 13, 1881. To this union were born 10 children: of whom one son, Samuel and one daughter, Catherine, died in infancy. She leaves to survive her departure, four sons, Henry of McLean, Illinois, Alonzo of Duquoin, Illinois, Harve and Albert both residing near Martinsville, four daughters, Sophrona Messner of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ella Seaton of Martinsville, Nettie Daugherty of Brocton, Illinois and Emma Williams residing near Martinsville. As a crown of glory to her good long life and hardy lineage are her thirty-five grandchildren and twenty great grand children. Many friends and aquaintenances will also miss her presence among them.

Mr. and Mrs. Fasig removed from Ohio to Clark County during November 1868 and made their home in and near Martinsville throughout their lives. They united with the Martinsville Church of God in January, 1869. Mrs. Fasig has been a member of the Church of God since girlhood and in the work of her God and her church her interest and faithfulness was an outstanding characteristic of her life. So was her regularity in attendance at church services as long as her health permitted.

As a mother of her large family, commendable words, however many, would not overemphasize her love and patience. That all of her children have grown to be honorable citizens and established in the faith and in the church speaks of her influence.

Since a severe illness several years ago, she has been in declining health for about the last three years and has been cared for in the homes of her children. She was ready and longing for the end of her earthy career, that she might burden no one here, and that she might be in the blessed beyond.
