Mrs. Spencer died in the home of her daughters, Mrs. A.T. Gray at Jacksboro. She had been ill for about a week, but her condition was not considered serious until during the weekend.
She moved to Young County in 1878. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star.
Survived by three daughters - Mrs. B.F. Griffith of Fort Worth, Mrs. A.T. Gray of Jacksboro and Mrs. Frank Alexander of Olney; four sons - W.A. Spencer of Lubbock, Glenn Spencer of Perry, OK, J.D. Spencer, Jr.and Maurice Spencer of Jacksboro; two brothers - Allen Casey of Jean and John Casey of Graham; one sister - Mrs. Nellie West of Tuscon, AZ.
