Charles L. Watson, 48, Arcata, died Sunday morning in a Eureka hospital as the result of a sudden heart attack. He was born January 8, 1911, in Fort Collins, Colorado.
He had owned and operated a service garage and grocery store in Fort Collins, Colorado for several years. He had resided in this area for the past six years and had been employed by the Humboldt county road department and as custodian at the Stewart elementary school.
He was a veteran of World War II and past commander of the George Beach Post, American Legion of Fort Collins.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lois E. Watson; daughters, Mrs. Vera Sharp, Bellvue, Colorado; Mrs. Rebecca Markle, Kueoland; Mary Beth Watson, Arcata; Charlotte Lynne Watson, Arcata; sister, Mrs. Betty June Gould, Yuba City: brothers, Richard G. Watson, Santa Rosa; Dan A. Watson, Blue Lake; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a. m. from Field Mortuary, Chapel of the Redwoods. Interment will follow in Trinidad cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Scott M. Kochler, Donald A. Costello, Leonard Hoass, Albert Sousa, Arthur Omhold, Wally Lee, William Bray and William Dessert.
