Dora was born in Joanna, Ralls County, Missouri, the daughter of William Leonard and Lerah Mae Young Cullifer. She died at a local hospital in Lawton. Oklahoma.

She attended North Fork Grade School, a one-room school house for grades 1-8 in rural northeast Missouri and graduated Valedictorian from Hunnewell High School, Hunnewell, Missouri, in 1950. She graduated from the Quincy School of Cosmetology in Quincy, Illinois, and began work as a beautician.

On 30 June 1956, she married Gerald Ray Power in Shelbina, Missouri. They were blessed with two daughters.

During his military career, Dora accompanied her husband during numerous military assignments, including those within the United States, France, Germany, Okinawa, and South Korea.

Throughout all of the moves, Dora remained a devoted and beloved wife and mother, the heart of her family. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, reading, church activities, board games, playing cards, and working with her daughters in their Girl Scout troops. She was a source of inspiration and support through all things. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

She worked as a Case Worker for the American Red Cross for more than 21 years starting in Taegu, South Korea, and continuing to Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Following her retirement from the Red Cross, she operated a janitorial and contracting business for 12 years. In addition, she enjoyed selling Avon for more than 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James Cullifer; a great-niece and a nephew.

Left cherish her memories, she was survived by her husband, Gerald, of the home; daughters, Angela and her husband Ron Doerr, and Kimberly and her husband Michael Merritt, all of Lawton; four grandchildren, Morgan and Miranda Merritt, Joseph and Riley Doerr all of Lawton; brother, Art Cullifer of Emden, Missouri; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Power of Shelbina, Missouri, and Richard Harvey of Bethel, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

Funeral services were held at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home with Mr. Rodger Schwenn, minister of Sullivan Village Church of Christ, officiating.
