He and Thomas ROBEY were twins. They worked at the Navy Yard as ship carpenters.

Cemetery records show that he was placed in the Public Vault on 23 November 1851 and then buried in Range 35, site 242 on 2 March 1852 (purchased by Mrs. Elizabeth ROBEY). Congressional Cemetery Records give William's death date as the date he was placed in the Public Vault (23 November 1851; his grave marker shows the death year as 1850.
