On October 31, 1990, Halloween night, Rebecca Colley Adcock went to the M & J Club, a bar in Sand Springs, Oklahoma with two friends. While in the bar Rebecca and her friends danced and drank and were having a fun time but at some point something went wrong. Rebecca reported afterwards that a white male tried to pick her up but she rejected his advances. The man then went over to a group of woman and was talking to them while motioning back towards Rebecca. Rebecca's friends had gone outside with a couple of men they had met and Rebecca came outside to tell them they needed to leave but she had left her cigarette lighter and cigarettes behind and went back into the bar to get them. Shortly after that Rebecca came back outside and had obviously been attacked as she had several red marks on her face from being hit. She told her friends she had been brutally attacked by several girls but did not know why or who they were. One of her friends later reported one of the women came outside threatening to do more harm to Rebecca as well as to her friends.

Rebecca suffered severe headaches and over the next several weeks saw a doctor and went to the ER room in Bristow, OK, where she lived, seeking relief. On January 21, 1991 she was transferred from the small Bristow hospital to one in Tulsa for treatment. She died shortly after arrival. An autopsy was preformed and it was determined she died due to blunt force trauma to her head that she had received back on October 31st.

This case is currently a Cold Case Homicide being investigated out of the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office. I am the assigned investigator.
