Peter Maybank Bonneau, son of William Henry Bonneau and Anna Maria Swinton was born February 27, 1840 in Alabama. Peter never married. He enlisted in the Confederate Army on January 9, 1862 in Mobile, Alabama at the young age of 21. Assigned to Company G of the 24th. Alabama Infantry, Peter saw only a few months of duty before his life was cut short. Peter died in the hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee on August 29, 1862. Peter Maybank Bonneau was one of eight sons born to William Henry Bonneau and Anna Maria Swinton, seven of which served in the Confederate Army. Peter was the only one of the seven Bonneau brothers who did not return home from the War.
