6/16/1928 9/10/2003
Rose started her life in Sacramento in 1928. She resided most of her life in San Jose, CA, moving to Bakersfield after the loss of her husband, Martin (Red) Gillette. She worked at Radiation Detection in San Jose for 25 years, and had just started to enjoy retirement with her husband at the time of her loss.
Rose enjoyed, with a passion, gambling, whether it be at Stateline, Laughlin or Eagle Mountain. The slot machines seemed to be kept warm for her.
She was a loving mother, to Ramona Newton (deceased) and her husband, Michael, Shirley Holland and her husband, Glenn Holland; son, Larry Gillette and son, Stan Gillette and his wife, Debbie.
She is further survived by her brother, William Nunes (Uncle Bill), nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
All those knowing her loved her and will greatly miss her.
No services will be held locally as she will finally be with Red (Interment being in Los Altos, CA). Remembrance will be at Glenn and Shirleys, Sunday, September 14, from 2-6 p.m. Doughty-Calhoun-OMeara Funeral Directors
