George the III was the son of George II and Mary (Stratton) Hand. He and his twin sister were born a few months after their father was killed in a hunting accident. George first married Mary Page in 1762, second married Sarah Ingram in 1771, third married Sylvia Mills in 1773, fourth married Naomi Smith on 1 AUG 1774 and fifth married Lois and sixth married Naomi Smith's sister Experience Smith in 1805. They were the daughter's of Uriah and Mary (Somers) Smith. Her great-grandfather, John Somers, was the founder of Somer's Point, NJ. In 1695 he purchased 3000 acres around Somer's Point. Part of this land included Peck's Beach, which is now called Ocean City, NJ. George and Naomi had at least 3 children; George IV 1771, Uriah 1777 (memorial #12446264) and Judith 1773, who married Anthony Cresse. George is buried at the Bishop Farm in Fishing Creek, NJ
