BRIG ROBINSON
ACCIDENTLY
KILLED

Struck in the breast with the full charge of a shotgun that was being lifted from the wagon by Ernest Stone, his stepson, Brigham M. Robinson, president and manager of the Ogden Medicinal Springs and former manager of the old sanitarium, was instantly killed before his residence, Second street and Washington avenue, at 10 o'clock last night. Robinson, his stepson and others had just returned from a camping trip in South Fork canyon, and were unloading the camping outfit from the wagon when the gun was accidentlally discharged.
When the party reached the house from South Fork, Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Charles Weiderbaugh, a sister-in-law began to separate the possesions of the two families. Robinson was at the rear of the wagon unloading some of the heavier articles. His stepson was near the front, next the seat. The gun was lying flat in the wagon with the muzzle pointed toward Robinson at the rear. The gun was of the modern hammerless type and when Stone lifted it from the bottom it is beleved that the safety catch had been released, for when the trigger hit one of the boxes, the gun was discharged.
Robinson was within five feet of the muzzel of the gun. The full charge struck him above the heart. He did not utter a sound as he fell to the road.
The others around the wagon were stunned for a moment, but the children who had gathered screamed at the soun of the gun and the sight of the fallen man. They ran to the drug store just across the street. His stepson and Wiederbaugh carried the dead man into his house.
A physician was called but he pronounced the man dead. A call had also been sent to the police, and Chief Norton and Detective Tom Burke arrived within five minutes of the accident.
Brigham M. Robinson was born in England 54 years ago and came to the United States with his parents, when he was a young man. The members of the family lived in Coalville for several years where Mr. Robinson became a coal miner, From Coalville the deceased moved to Wyoming and engaged in ranching. For seven years he was a resident of Evanston.
Twenty years ago he came to Ogden and made this place his home. He built a residence at Second street and Washington avenue where he has resided almost entirely during the years spent in Ogden. For a number of years he conducted a saloon at Five Points but left that business about five years ago to manage his other interests.
He had a large ranch near Peterson in Weber canyon but he sold that a short time ago. He owns a farm in Harrisville which he has been working during the last few years.
Aside from his agricultural pursuits, he was interested in a number of mines in Mercur and was president of the Ogden Medicinal Springs company. For two years he was manager of the sanitarium at the mouth of Ogden canyon. He conducted that resort up until the time it was destroyed by fire six months ago.
Mr. Robinson is survived by two children, a son, Brigham M. of Coalville, and a baby daughter. His father resides in Coalville, where he has brothers. The father, son and brothers were notified of the accident last night and are expected to arrive in Ogden this afternoon, where arrangements for the funeral will be made. The body is lying at the Lindquist parlors.
