Geneva R. McKinstry Baxter, 78, of Tallahassee, Fla., formerly of Grant Park, died March 11, 2001, in Florida. She was born Nov. 26, 1922, in Grant Park. She was an accountant for Baxter Television and Repair in Bradley and in Hallendale, Fla. She and her late husband had founded the business. She was a member of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Baxter is survived by a son, James T. (Donna) Langlois of Kankakee; a daughter, Crystal (John) O'Brien of Tallahassee, Fla.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ida Cantway of Momence and Bernadine Jones of Olney; a brother, Clifford (Mary) McKinstry of Grant Park; and a sister-in-law, Ethel McKinstry of Grant Park. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Baxter, in 1981, they were married on Jan. 19, 1952, in Grant Park; her parents, Thomas and Rosy Linterbrink McKinstry; and a brother, Virgil McKinstry. The funeral was conducted March 17 at Hub Funeral Chapel in Grant Park. The Rev. Ron Gustine officiated. Burial was in Union Corners Cemetery in rural Grant Park. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
