FULTON - Vola A. Hamm, 82, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born Feb. 9, 1927, in Itawamba County to Wiley and Alice Senter Chilcoat. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She worked as a cook in restaurants. She was an avid gardener.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Senter Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dwight Faulkenbery officiating. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Survivors include two sisters, Genette Johnson (Kenneth) and Gertie Knight (Bill) of Fulton; one sister-in-law, Jimmie Chilcoat of Fulton; nieces and nephews, Brad Montgomery, Chris Montgomery, Debbie Swords, Tami Beane, Sandra Magee, Darenda Cooke, Linda Posey, Barbara Sullivan, Steve Johnson, Leisa Howell, Gail Umphers and Sandy Hayes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.W. "Pete" Hamm; two sisters, Louise Skeen and Trudye Montgomery; two brothers, John Kelly Chilcoat and Rev. Buford Chilcoat.
Pallbearers were Brad Montgomery, Chris Montgomery, Steve Johnson, Brian Hayes, Jeff Umphers and Johnny Adams.
