Alice M. Law, age 88 years of Rockport, Illinois, formerly of Iberia, Mo., passed away Monday, September 13, 1976 at Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana, Mo. Mrs. Law was born October 23, 1887 in Daviess County near Gallatin, Mo., the daughter of W. R. and Valera (Spears) Hightree. She was married March 19, 1919 in Iberia, Mo., by Squire Ferguson to Clarence Law, who survives at the home.
Mrs. Law moved to Miller County in 1903 where she lived until 1939 when they moved to Illinois. She lived the rest of her life in Illinois where she was a member of the Church of Christ in Pleasant Hill, Ill. Mrs. Law taught in the Spearman and Curry Schools in Miller County and was a former member of the Alder Springs Church of Christ in Miller County.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, Willie Hightree in 1968.
Surviving other than her husband, Clarence, are: 1 daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Martin of Iberia, Mo.; 3 sons, Leonard Law of Edwardsville, Ill., Harry Law of Rockport, Ill. and Howard Law of Louisiana, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 16, 1976 at the Iberia Cemetery with Bro. Jack Duncan officiating. Local arrangements were under the direction of the Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia, Mo. Pallbearers were grandsons Gene Martin, Larry Martin, Dale Law, Kenny Law, Greg Law and Whitney Law.
