Everett E. Young, 80, of Equinunk, died on February 3, 2009, in Honesdale, PA.
He was born on December 29, 1928 in Braman, PA, the son of Coe F. and Dorothy (Layton) Young. He married Ellen Goodwin on March 21, 1953 in Equinunk, PA.
Everett was in the U.S. Army and served time in Germany. He was a member and past trustee of the Equinunk United Methodist Church and a member of the Equinunk Sportmens Club. He was also a past director and a member of the Equinunk Historical Society.
In his later years, Everett was employed by the Haldane Central Schools in Cold Spring, NY.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen, Equinunk, PA, 1 son and daughter in law, Coe and Mary Ann Young, Endicott, NY, 3 sisters; Madelyn Houghtaling, Vera Hoover, and Margaret Snyder, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by 2 brothers; Edgar and Horace, and 2 sisters; Dorothy Hathaway and Ada Bauer.
There will be a memorial service held on Friday, February 6, 2009, at 10:30am at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock, NY. Pastor Alice Padone and Pastor Pat Hanley will officiate.
