Alfreda Mae Barnard, 91, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the White Hall Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born Dec. 2, 1922 in rural Roodhouse, the daughter of Robert and Tressie Wallis McElroy. She married Gilbert Barnard Dec. 24, 1945 in Roodhouse. He preceded her in death Feb. 25, 2003.
Surviving are three children, Rodney (Terry) Barnard of Greenfield, Michael Barnard of Apple Springs, TX, and David Barnard of Sherman, TX; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
Alfreda was a member of the Athensville Baptist Church. She was employed by Mobil Chemical in Jacksonville for many years.
A memorial services will be held at a later date, with interment at the Richwood Cemetery in rural Roodhouse. The Daws Family Funeral Home in Roodhouse is entrusted with the services. Memorials are suggested to Athensville Baptist Church.
