John Edwin Blakeley (sic) of Route 4, Andrews, died at the Georgetown County Memorial Hospital Friday. He had been in ill health for some time.
Funeral services will take place Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Suttons Methodist Church. Officiating will be the pastor, the Rev. H. H. Reed, ther Rev. L. D. Driggers, and the Rev. C. B. Edwards. Burial will be in the church yard under the direction of Mayer Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mauray McCrea, Vernon Blakeley, Rogers Blakeley, Carroll Wilson, Frank Williams, and Winston Wiggins. The official board of Suttons Church and the members ot the Mens Bible Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Blakeley, son of Mrs. Margaret Broach Blakeley and the late Thomas Blakeley, was born in Williamsburg County on Sept. 18, 1895. He had made his home in Suttons community where he was a farmer. Mr. Blakeley was a member of Suttons Church and of the Mens Bible Class of the church. At the time of his death, he was a steward and had been for several years.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mannie (sic) Wilson Blakeley of Andrews; five daughters, Mrs. Harold Bath and Mrs. Thomas Mercer, both of Andrews, Mrs. Durant Benton of Georgetown, Mrs. Brice McCrea of Salters, and Mrs. Scott Dubose of the home; his mother, Mrs. Margaret B. Blakeley of Andrews; three brothers, M. R. Blakeley and T. E. Blakeley, both of Andrews, and B. M. Blakeley of Heath Springs; four sisters, Mrs. H. C. Johnson of St. George, Mrs. R. J. McRea of Kingstree, Mrs. J. D. Altman of Scranton, and Mrs. Frank Wilson of Andrews; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
