COLUMBIA, May 2 (Special) — Charlie M. Stringer, 74, of Clarks, died Tuesday afternoon at his home after a short illness.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Columbia Church of God with Rev. Alton Smith of Jonesboro officiating, assisted by Rev. N. C. McNeil.

Interment followed in the Welcome Home Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clara Belle Stringer of Clarks; four daughters, Mrs. Minnie Lee Goodwin of Jonesboro, Mrs. Barbara Nichols of Houston, Mrs. Georgia Flannigan of Alexandria, and Mrs. Della Wall of Lake Charles; three sons, J. C. Stringer of Shreveport, David Stringer of Jonesboro, and Aubrey Stringer of Hodge; and 10 grandchildren.
