Rebecca D. Rutan, 91, of Allison Park, formerly of Cameron, W.Va., and Warren, Ohio, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 1998, in Mariner Health Care Center of North Hills, Wexford. She was born October 25, 1906, in Cameron, W.Va., a daughter of Frank Gordon Duncan Sr. and Florence Elizabeth Culley Duncan. She had resided in the Cameron and Warren areas all of her life prior to 1970, when she relocated to Allegheny County following her retirement. Mrs. Rutan was a former member and elder of First Presbyterian Church in Cameron and had attended St. Paul Methodist Church in Allison Park. She was a life member of Order of the Eastern Star, Lorrain Chapter 9 of Cameron. Mrs. Rutan was a graduate of Cameron High School and earned her degree in elementary education from Fairmont State College in 1957. She was a member of the county and state teachers associations in West Virginia. Her husband, Bartley Delbert Rutan, died in 1954. Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca Ann Cook of Allison Park, with whom she had made her home since 1970; a brother, Cmdr. Frank G. Rutan Jr. of New Orleans, La.; a sister, Wilma McCracken of Washington; and two grandchildren, Cathy A. Donehoo and John B. Evans. Deceased is a sister, Margaret E. Santee. There will be no public visitation. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, in Highland Cemetery, Cameron, W.Va.
