born Rockwell City, Iowa, died at her home in town in Greeley, Nebraska under the care of her son James and C.C's sister Margaret Mann. Her husband Clifford died in March of 1969, and according to her daughter Catherine, she was one of the best women God ever created; great wife, mother, daughter, friend, and fabulous cook. She did not like modern gas or electric stoves or washing machines and always cooked on a cast iron wood burning stove, even when they left the farm and moved into town in 1952. She didn't even like modern irons and would heat her old cast iron iron on her wood stove top to iron clothes. She is buried with her husband C.C. in the Catholic Section of the cemetery which is called Sacred Heart Cemetery and is consecrated ground. When Jennie married Clifford she converted from Methodism to Catholicism and was very devout about it. Her parents are buried in the Greeley Cemetery which is considered Protestant although it really is the same cemetery. They were James and Mary Ann Berryman. She was named for her grandmother, Jennie Selfridge.
