Mr. Scroggins was employed more than 25 years with Miami Valley Dairy before retiring several years ago. Earlier, he was employed with Indiana Steel and Wire Co.
Surviving are his wife, Alverta; two daughters, Pauline Sailor, Albion, Mich., and Shirley Hale, Eaton Rapids, Mich.; four sons, James E. Scroggins, Sugar Land, Texas, Bobbie D. Scroggins, chief inspector with the Muncie Fire Dept., Donald R. Scroggins, Muncie police chief, and Glenn E. Scroggins, Delaware County coroner and chief fire/arson investigator with the Muncie Fire Dept., all of Muncie; three sisters, Wilma Campbell and Barbara Jones, both of Charleston, S.C., and Dorothy Brown, Jamestown, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Meeks Mortuary, with Rev. Donald Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Calling hours at the mortuary are after 3 p.m. today and before services Saturday.
