John F. Bucaro, 54, a crippled youth who overcame his handicap to become a Loop attorney, died Saturday in Northwest Hospital. Mr. Bucaro, of 6035 W. Eddy St., was a general practice lawyer with offices at 1 N. La Salle for 26 years.
Brought by his parents from Sicily when two months old, he was found to have tuberculosis of the leg when he tried to walk. He spent several years in a convalescent home and in schools for crippled children, including the Sabin branch at Tuley High School. He went on to DePaul University Law School.
Mr. Bucaro is survived by his widow, Eleanor; two sons, Thomas and James; and a daughter, Mary. Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 5900 W. Barry Ave.
