SERVICES CONDUCTED FOR WILLIAM NEUHAUS

Funeral services for William Neuhaus, 79, who passed away at Osmond Sunday evening, Jan. 15, were conducted Wednesday morning at the Hengstler Chapel. The Reverend Adolph Lillich, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church officiated. Interment was in Prospect Hill Cemetery at Elkhorn.

William Neuhaus was born in Germany on Aug. 27, 1876, the son of Johann Friedrick and Anna Catherine Suhrstede Siems Neuhaus. He was the fourth of six children, all came to the United State. Bill came, when about 20 years old and farmed near Elkhorn.

He was united in marriage to Mary Seltz Dec. 28, 1905 at Papillion, where they made their home until 1920. Four sons and two daughters were born to them. The eldest son, Herman, passed away July 24, 1940. His wife preceded him in death March 14, 1928.

The family lived on a farm west of Creighton for a number of years. Mr. Neuhaus spent the last five years of his life at the Leggett Nursing Home at Osmond, where he passed away.

He is survived by two daughters, Marie Closter of Creighton, Helen Schram of Papillion; three sons, Arthur of Orchard, Alvin of Omaha and William of Winnetoon and 14 grandchildren.

Two brothers, August and Henry and three sisters, Anna Keiser, Sophie Busekist and Meta Buesing preceded him in death.
