NELLIE CORNWELL Nellie Belle Vosper Cornwell, 96, of Lacy, Wash., passed away Jan. 5, 2011. She was born Nov. 23, 1914, in Centralia, Wash., and was a 33-year resident of Nevada. Nellie was a beautician and beauty consultant in Seattle, and then Las Vegas. She married O.S. Ed Cornwell in 1939 in Lewiston, Idaho, and lived in Las Vegas from 1950 1983. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1978, and by a brother, Bill Vosper in 2010. Nellie is survived by her daughter, Janet (Edward) Wagley; brother, James Vosper; grandchildren, Laurie (Kirk) Jarman, James (Debbie) Wagley and Edward (Leah) Wagley; eight great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, at the LDS Church, 3800 Henderson Blvd. SE, Olympia, WA 09501. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice.

Nellie Belle Vosper Cornwell, 96, a former resident of Centralia, died peacefully Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at Panorama in Lacey.
Nellie was born November 23, 1914, in Centralia to John Edward Vosper and Laura Ellen Rutledge. She grew up in Tacoma and was a graduate of the Moler Beauty School. She married Orlyn S. Cornwell in 1939 and continued working as an instructor at the beauty school. In 1950, she and her family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she worked for a prestigious beauty salon. This salon was frequented by many Hollywood personalities and gave her great influence in the cosmetology field. She managed this Salon until 1982 when she moved to Centralia. She became an active volunteer at Centralia Providence Hospital for 20 years, and was known as the "magazine lady."
She is survived by her loving daughter Janet (Edward) Wagley; grandchildren Laurie Jarman, James Wagley and Edward Wagley II and their spouses; eight great-grandchildren; brother James M. Vosper; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father in 1971, her mother in 1984, her husband in 1978, and her brother Bill E. Vosper in 2010.

A viewing for Nellie Cornwell will be held on Friday, January 14, 2011, from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3800 Henderson Blvd. SE, Olympia, WA 98501. Services will began at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mills and Mills Memorial Park at 5725 Littlerock Road in Tumwater.
