FORESMAN-- John Baer (Bob) . Born July 20, 1912, died May 5, 1998. Remembered fondly by his wife, Gable Foresman; loving father of Betsy Foresman Snow and caring grandfather of Shelby Cain, Sarah Snow and grandson-in-law, Lt. Derek Cain. Preceded in death by: his parents, Frank and Mabyl (Weldon) Foresman and wife of 54 years, Betty Louise McDaniel. Attended Lee Elementary, Horace Mann Junior High School, graduated Central High School in 1930, Bachelor's degree from the University of Tulsa in 1934 as a Lambda Chi Alpha member. Married Betty, December 15, 1940, who died February 20, 1994. After Betty's death Bob married his friend of 62 years, Gable Bewley in 1995. Joined Tulsa Tribune in 1934, worked until 1943 when he entered the Navy. He rejoined the Tribune after the War and retired as Business Editor in 1982, but continued to write stories for the paper until it closed in 1992. During his years with the Tribune he started ``Send A Kid To Camp'' as well as many other projects. Bob entered the Navy in 1943 as an Ensign and attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He was active in the U.S. Navy Reserves until 1972. Bob was a former Director of the Tulsa Historical Society, member of Tulsa Chamber of Commerce, Tulsa State Fair Advisory Committee, past President of the Tulsa Press Club, Vice President and Director of Fidelity National Investment Co. and a member of Boston Avenue Methodist Church. Memorials can be made to Up With Trees or the City of Tulsa Parks Department. Service 10 a.m., Friday, Boston Avenue Methodist Church Sanctuary. Entombment Memorial Park Mausoleum.
