Geneva C. Heeter, 94 of Huntington passed away at 11:05 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2008 at the Heritage of Huntington.
She was a 1933 graduate of Huntington High School. She had worked in sales at the JC Penney Store in Huntington for 33 years. She was a member of the St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
Geneva was born on February 2, 1914 in Huntington County, a daughter of Henry L. and Minnie Bell (Harper) Clapp.
Survivors include a daughter: Ms. Jacqueline Baker of Huntington, four grandchildren: Mr. Richard (Debra) VanMeter II of Huntington, Mrs. Clifford (Brenda) Schultz of Huntington, Mrs. Jerry (Michelle) Jackson of Roanoke, Mrs. Jason (Amy) Cupp of Fort Wayne, seventeen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Henrietta Henricks, six brothers: Park Clapp, Donald Clapp, Henry Clapp, Royal Clapp, Frank Clapp, Kenneth Clapp and two grandsons: Jeffrey Van Meter and Bryan Van Meter.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Dr. Richard Lofgren officiating.
Interment will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington.
