He was the son of James Robert & Scharlotta Patterson Brown
He passed away in the Community Hospital in Fairfax,Mo.He had received his schooling in the Rockbridge Public Schools.On May 28,1916 in Rockbridge,Mo.he married Alta Elizabeth Price,& to this union seven children were born.
In 1929 he came to Tarkio,Mo.where he farmed untilretiring
in 1948.He then moved to town & was employed by the Manley
Popcorn Company,where he worked for about 20 years.He had
been active in 4-H work,during his farming years,& enjoyed being the out doors.He liked being around animals & shared
his fishing with many of his grandchildren.surviving are
three daughters,Wanda,of Kansas City,Mo.,Allie,of Tarkio,Mo
& Sybil,of Maryville,Mo.;three sons,Lawrence & Loren,both of Tarkio,Mo.& Lloyd,of Scottsdale,Ariz.'a sister,Maggie Naugles,of Ava,Mo.;21 grandchildren;28 great-grandchildren;
He was preceded in death by his wife,Alta,his parents,a son,Alva,two granddaughters,four brothers & four sisters.
Family vivitation for friends & family will be held at the
Davis Funeral Home,Thursday,Aug.27,1981 from 7:30-8:30 p.m..In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial gifts be given to the Community Hospital at Fairfax,Mo.
