Mr. Johnnie Perdie Courson, 70, of Argyle died Friday morning (April 14, 2006) at the Satilla Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. He was a native of Pierce County and lived in Argyle for the past 28 years. Mr. Courson was retired from Brockway Standard in Homerville, he enjoyed country music and gardening. His parents were the late James Isaac Courson and Lovie J. Boatright Courson. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Glenda Courson, Carolyn Bennett and one brother, Vernon Courson.

Survivors include his wife, Wylene Arnold Courson, Argyle, two daughters, Karen Monfils (husband Ron), Charleston, SC, Lisa Brammell (husband Robert), Charleston, SC, one brother, Windell Courson (wife Shinok), Fredericksburg, VA, two sisters, Juanita Bullard, Blackshear, Nell Prescott (husband W.R.), Hilliard, FL, six grandchildren, Lee Jones, Cliff Jones, Joseph Jones, Forrest Brammell, Chloe Brammell, Isabelle Brammell, seven great-grandchildren, two step-sons, Jimmy Harper, Argyle, Johnny Harper, Lakeland, three step grandchildren, one step great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Monday morning at 11:00 am at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
