Mr. Harry J. Boxxe and brother, Sheddy E. Boxxe, reunited after not seeing each other for 53 years.

Pooler Resident Reunited with Brother,
After 53 years of separation, Mr. Harry J. Boxxe of Pooler and his brother, Mr. Sheddy E. Boxxe were reunited. Both men were reared in Bethesda Home and, while in their early teens, were separated and went to different locales. Fate, and lack of information, kept the whereabouts of the two men secret. While Mr. Harry Boxxe had no idea of the address of his brother, or even the knowledge of the name being used, the other party did know that Savannah was the home of Mr. Harry Boxxe.

On Saturday, April 2, Mr. S. E. Boxxe was en route from Florida back to his home, and the airliner he was on made a stop at Travis Field. He took the opportunity to check the Savannah Telephone Directory, located the number of his nephew, Harry, and called him. Of course, he soon learned that the brother lived in Pooler, Ga. Delaying his trip to Chicago, Mr. Boxxe came to visit his Pooler relatives and remained with them through last Sunday.

During this visit, Mr. Boxxe was reunited with all of his relatives. Members of the Harry Boxxe family held a reunion on Saturday, some of them coming from Mississippi to meet their new-found uncle.

Attending the reunion was Mr. and Mrs. Leroy DeWitt and family, Mr. & Mrs. Everett Boxxe and family, Mr. and Mrs. George Boxxe and family, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Boxxe and family, all of Pooler. Mr. & Mrs. Harry Boxxe of Savannah, Mr. and Mrs. Joe B. Sanders of Biloxi, Miss., and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde W. Pitt and family of Florida.

It was a gala occasion for the family and, with the discovery of such a large number of nieces and nephews, it certainly must have been a wonderful visit for Mr. S. E. Boxxe. Savannah News, April 3, 1960
