WILLIAM WALTER McVAY
---William Walter McVay, 90, of 171 Valley Forge, Kirksville, passed away Saturday afternoon (October 6, 1990) at the Macon County Health Care Center.
---Born April 5, 1900 in Nind (Adair County), he was the son of William Henry and Bertha Belfield McVay. On April 18, 1923 in Macon, he married Velma Hollis who preceded him in death in March, 1947.
---He was also preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Forrest in January 1988, and three in infancy; one sister, Madge Moncrief in April 1986, and one great-granddaughter.
---He is survived by two sons, Wayne McVay of La Plata and Jesse McVay of Springfield, Illinois, one brother, Gale McVay of Houston, Missouri; one sister, Ellen McVay of Houston, Missouri; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
---He received his education in Atlanta schools. He farmed most of his adult life in Macon County.
---Funeral services were held Tuesday morning (October 9, 1990) in Travis Funeral Chapel, La Plata. The Rev. Gene Runnels conducted the services. Organ music was provided by Shirley Matticks. Burial was in the La Plata Cemetery.
