"The Good Die Young"

The other day I read these words, "Good people and good things die young". I've seen good people die young who could have helped others and their community and made the world a better place to live in. On the other hand, I've seen people who were evil and a disgrace to everything live on and on.

Why do good, clean shows and songs die young, and dirty sorry ones never die? Dirty, unclean books and stories are good sellers and never die, and good ones don't sell and die young.

I know today's appeal is to the godless and dirty things, I know by observation that rare, pretty-by mornings and bluebonnets, don't live long, and bad flowers and weeds live on and on.

Still, if good persons or good things have eased pain and made sorry people into good ones they have not died in vain. I don't understand why good people and good things die young. Maybe we'll know in the by and by.
