Mrs. Ethel Athey, 64, Estherville, died yesterday evening at Holy Family Hospital.
She was born Oct.3, 1905, in Estherville to Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Scharfenberg and was educated in Estherville. In 1922 she married Roscoe R. Athey in Estherville. Following their marriage they farmed near Dolliver until he died in the spring of 1937 at which time she moved to Estherville. She was a life-long member of the First Christian Church.
She is survived by three sons, Forrest, Sheboygan, Wis., Raymond, Colona, Ill., Robert, Sacramento, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Russell (Lois) Davis, Minneapolis; 11 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Harold Ober, Portland, Ore., Mrs. Otto Otterson, Waitburg, Wash., Mrs. Lois Tostenson, Mason City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, infant son, and parents.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Karl Miller of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
