We are very deeply pained to make known to the readers of the Index that Miss Mamie Rozell, of Holly Springs, Miss., died at the residence of W.W. Meadows, in this city, on the night of the 29th ult. Miss Rozell came to Fulton about a month ago for the purpose of visiting her cousin, Mrs. W.W. Meadows. For two or three weeks she had a pleasant visit, but was taken sick suddenly about two
weeks ago. Everything that could be done by kind friends and skillful physicians was done for the sufferer, but all efforts to restore her to health were fruitless. Her condition was not thought to be critical until two days
before she died.
Her mother was sent for, but arrived on the morning of the 30th, to find her daughter a corpse.
Miss Rozell was a young lady of rare accomplishments, and made friends very rapidly in Fulton. The very kindest sympathies of the entire town are extended to the bereaved family. Fulton (Ky.) Index.
The subject of the above notice had many friends in Holly Springs, whose hearts were made to ache sorely at the news of her death among strangers. We have this consolation; it mattered not to Mamie where the Divine Messenger found her, she was ready to obey her Master's call, "come up higher." May her friends comfort themselves with this thought: "Our hame is God, so if she is hame, and we are
hame, we canna be far sundered."
