Arletta K. "Susie" (Ditch) Welsh, 63, of 9062 Gap Rd., Waynesboro, PA, died at 12:12 A.M., January 17, 2011, in Waynesboro Hospital. She had been ill for eighteen months and critically ill for the last two weeks.
Born January 6, 1948 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of Dorean (Cole) Ditch Rubeck of Zullinger, PA and the late Joseph Ditch. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.
Mrs. Welsh attended Waynesboro schools.
She and her husband, Dennis L. Welsh, were married on September 28, 2001 in Hagerstown, MD.
Mrs. Welsh was employed by Connie's Sportswear, as a supervisor, then Fairfield Graphics as a printing press operator and most recently at National Book Network, Blue Ridge Summit, as a warehouse employee.
She enjoyed camping, playing bingo and collecting Longaberger baskets and Boyd's Bears.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her daughter: Candy (DeLaughter) Barnes, her husband Kenny, Waynesboro, her son: Dennis L. Welsh Jr., his wife Marissa, St. Thomas, PA; two grandchildren: Brianna Barnes, Waynesboro, Rylynn Welsh, St. Thomas; two sisters: Josephine (Ditch) Mentzer, Waynesboro, Crystal (Ditch) Price, Waynesboro; three brothers: Joseph Ditch, South Carolina, Bill Ditch, Chambersburg, Harold Ditch, Waynesboro; her step-father, Johnny Rubeck, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 21, 2011 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro, with Rev. John C. Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday in the funeral home.
