Ralph L. Leach, son of John Enos and Melissa (Money) Leach, was born on August 1, 1896 in Union Township, Hendricks County, on a farm southwest of Lizton which was entered from the government by Enos Leach (Ralph's great-grandfather) during the administration of President Andrew Jackson and remained in the family until 1958, over 125 years. The land, just west of Lizton and south of US 136, where the old brick house stands (built by Ralph's grandfather, James Montgomery Leach) has been in the family 100 years. Ralph has two brothers, Granville and Paul Leach, and one sister, Emma Leach. After graduating from Lizton High School, Ralph attended Central Normal College in Danville and Purdue University before engaging in farming. He married Elfia Ellis on June 12, 1934. They built the first home on the new section of State Road 39 in Lizton.

Services for Ralph L. Leach, age 96, Lizton, were July 6 (1993) at the Baker Funeral Home, Danville. He died July 2 at Lizton. Rev. Raymond Rader officiated. Burial was in the Lizton K. of P. Cemetery. Born Aug. 1, 1896 in the Lizton community, he was a son of John Enos and Melissa (Money) Leach. He graduated from Lizton High School and attended Central Normal College at Danville and Purdue University. On June 12, 1934, he married Elfia Ellis. She preceded in 1986. Mr. Leach spent his lifetime engaged in farming. He is survived by a sister, Emma Leach of Lizton and several nieces and nephews.
