The family settles southwest of Manchester, Green Lake Co., WI. On 15 July 1885, Herman Hinz marries Julia Shaddock in Manchester, WI. They have 9 kids together. About 1918, Herman moves from his farm into the town of Manchester. There he lives in retiremant until his death at age 77 in 1931.

On July 15, 1885, he was united in marriage to Juliane Shadock. This union was blessed with nine children, one of whom preceded the father in death--William, who died in the World's War.
He passed away on Sunday, June 28th, having reached the age of 77 years, 11 months and 19 days.
Mr. Hinz is survived by his widow; eight children, George Hinz of Weyawega, Mrs August Schwandt of Markesan, Mrs. Elmer Bobholz of Friesland, Mrs. Herb Mohr of Cambria,[daughter Frieda-Mrs. Otto Plath- was left out in the obit] Walter Hinz who lives on his father's farm, Mrs. Ed Lohry of Markesan, Mrs. George Schultz of Waukesha; fourteen grandchildren; and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the home in Manchester and at the Manchester Lutheran church. Rev. Wm. Wadzinski officiated.
