Zona McDaniel Livengood, 95, Salisbury, died Saturday (Aug. 7, 1999) at Rowan Regional Medical Center after a week of serious illness.
Born Sept. 8, 1903, in Advance, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Angeline Foster McDaniel. Educated in Davie County Schools, she was a homemaker and a member of Gay's Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Livengood, who died Nov. 9, 1998, a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Livengood Freeze Kincaid, who died Oct. 15, 1995, and two sons, Joe Livengood, who died Sept. 13, 1997, and Bill Livengood, who died Jan 13, 1998.
She is survived by sons Roy Livengood, Salisbury, and J. C. Livengood, Lexington; half-brother, Clarence McDaniel, Mooresville; sister Rose Sheets, Salisbury; half-sister Frances Fisher, Salisbury; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Gay's Chapel United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Don Newman, minister. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30. Burial in church cemetery.
Visitation: 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, at Summersett Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home of Roy Livengood, 745 Majolica Road.
