The Rev Riall Stump, 85, a former Goshen resident, died Thursday, Dec 23, at Poly Clinic Hospital, Harrisburg, Pa, where he was a patient for a month. Rev Stump has been in failing health for several years with a heart ailment.
Mr Stump was born in Union Township, Nov 24, 1891, to John F and Alice (Stiver) Stump.
He was a minister in the Brethren in Christ Church, serving Madison Chapel, Wakarusa, Upland Church, Upland, Calif, and Fairland Church, Cleona, Pa.
Mr Stump first married Bertha Clouse who died Dec 23, 1960.
He married Velva Asper in April 1962.
Surviving are Mrs Stump, two daughters, Mrs Coryalice Lechlitner, Wakarusa, and Mrs Henry (Lois) Miller, Annville, Pa; a son, Wallace Stump, Miami, Fla; a stepson, Dale Asper, Grantham, Pa; a sister, Mrs Hazel Clouse, Nappanee; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and three stepgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am today, at the Nappanee Brethren in Christ Church with the Rev Carl Stump officiating. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery, Nappanee.
A funeral service was held at 2:30 pm Sunday at the Brethren in Christ Church, Grantham, Pa, where Mr Stump had resided since 1962.
