Was a buttermaker and creamery operator in many small towns such as Faith, Oslo, (Lake) Bronson, Strandquist, and High Landing in far northwestern Minnesota; also delivered produce, bought and shipped poultry and bought second mortgages on farms. His last residence was in Portland, ND. Married Sophia Tollefson of Sibley County, where his great-grandfather had originally settled after immigrating from Norway. His father, Nere, had obtained a homestead in Gary, MN, in 1878, and moved his family there in 1882. George and Sophia had 3 children, Norris, Arnold and Nora Thelma. Both Sophia and George died young and their children were raised by George's sister, Annie, and her husband, Sivert Sundet of Gary, Minnesota.
