Mildred H. Abel
Pomona-Mildred H. Abel, 84, Pomona, died Friday, Oct. 12, 1984, at a Lyndon nursing home.
She was born July 27, 1900, in Oklahoma to Frank C and Pearl Beckelhimer Nichols. She spent most of her life in Franklin County. She was a housewife and homemaker.
Mrs. Abel was a member of the Greenwood Baptist Church in rural Franklin County.
She was married to John Abel on April 12, 1920, at Ottawa. He died Dec. 11, 1976. A daughter, Nadine Abel, died in 1924.
Survivors include a son, John R. Abel, Lyndon; two daughters, Myrna Guion, Mayetta, and Avis Henry, Harlingen, Texas; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Dengel and Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona. The family will receive friends from noon Saturday until service time at the mortuary.
